California State

California, a western U.S. state, is from the stretched side of the Mexican border along the Pacific for nearly 900 miles. Its environment contains Nevada Mountains, cliff-lined beaches, redwood forest, the Sierra  farmland and thus the Mojave. The city of Los Angeles is the seat of the Hollywood entertainment industry. Hilly San Francisco city is understood for the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island and cable cars.

The history of California are often divided into: the Native American period (about 10,000 years ago until 1542), the ecu exploration period (1542–1769), the Spanish colonial period (1769–1821), the Mexican period (1821–1848), and us statehood (September 9, 1850–present). California was one of the foremost culturally and linguistically diverse areas in pre-Columbian North America. After coming in contact with Spanish explorers, most of the Native Americans died out from the European diseases.

After the Portolá expedition of 1769–70, Spanish missionaries began fixing 21 California missions on or near the coast of Alta (Upper) California, beginning with the Mission San Diego de Alcala near the situation of the fashionable day city of San Diego, California. Two of the pueblos would eventually grow into the cities of l. a. and San Jose.

After the independence of the Mexican that was won in 1821, California fell under the jurisdiction of the first Mexican Empire. Been afraid of the influence of the Roman Catholic Church over their newly independent nation, the Mexican government had to closed all of the missions and nationalized the church's property. They left behind alittle "Californio" (white Hispanic) population of several thousand families, with a couple of small military garrisons. After the war fought between the Mexican /American in 1846–48, Mexico was forced to relinquish any claim to California to the us.

The California Gold Rush of 1848–1855 attracted many thousands of ambitious children from round the world. Only a few men struck it rich, and many returned home disappointed. Most appreciated the opposite economic opportunities in California, especially in agriculture, and brought their families to hitch them. California became the 31st US state within the Compromise of 1850 and played alittle role within the American war. The Chinese immigrants increasingly where under attack from the nativists of the state; they were forced out of industry and agriculture and into Chinatowns in the cities that are larger. As gold faded out, California increasingly with much effort became a highly productive agricultural society. Coming of the railroads in 1869 linked its rich economy with the rest of the nation, and attracted a steady stream of migrants. In the late 19th century, Southern California, especially l.a. , began to grow rapidly.

The statewide tax rate is 7.25%. In major areas of California, local jurisdictions have added district taxes that increase the tax owed by a seller.
